I’m excited that six of my photographs are included in a show at a contemporary art gallery in Austin. The Volitant Gallery is presenting a group exhibition called “Tunnel Vision: Parading Down the Aisle,” which is a “collection of photography that confronts the viewer with images that are not your obvious depiction of wedding bells and bliss, but more an observation of how the concept of matrimony has evolved through the span of time.

“Wedding photographs as art? Why not? IMHO, these photographs are powerful photographs in any context.

The bottom line is that with an ever-increasing number of wedding photographers (both good and bad) out there, some clients say they can’t tell the difference between one photographer and another. When a gallery recognizes wedding photography as an art form, it’s one small step, but a huge one at the same time. As an added bonus, my clients get to brag that an artist photographed their wedding!
